Welcome

Here in the crofting township of Achachork, in the hills above Portree, (the main town on Skye), The Bothy at No.7 really is the perfect place to come home to after sampling some of what makes Skye so special.

An island renowned for its magnificent scenery, spectacular sunsets and abundant wildlife, it also boasts historic interest with the great castles of the clans MacLeod and MacDonald. Skye resonates with the echoes of Flora MacDonald who in 1746, helped the then fugitive Bonnie Prince Charlie to safety, crossing from Uist to Skye before he boarded ship at Portree, never to return to Scotland.

There are fine walks for the energetic (and for the less so!), the best mountain scrambling in Scotland, kayaking, horse riding, cycling, the Talisker distillery and of course, salmon and trout fishing. Like us, the friendly often Gaelic speaking inhabitants look forward to meeting you. Check our prices here and our location on Multimap.
